Carat and milligram scales are bought by people who cannot afford a reading error: jewellers, gem dealers, pharmacies and laboratories. The category is small in volume but high in margin, and it is judged almost entirely on repeatability.
We build 0.001g configurations with draft shields, levelling feet and calibration weights. There is also a milligram variant for buyers who work in grams rather than carats, so one housing serves two markets.
